The newspaper The Information revealed on Thursday, citing informed sources, that the companies OpenAI and Microsoft are renegotiating aspects of their profit-sharing partnership.
According to the knowledgeable sources, discussions have been ongoing since last October and are highlighting Microsoft's equity stake, its uniqueness as a provider of cloud services to OpenAI, intellectual property rights, and a 20% share of OpenAI's revenue.
Previous discussions between Microsoft and OpenAI had stalled due to disagreements over Microsoft's cloud services and its impact on its role in the partnership, leading to a two-year extension to finalize the amendments.
