The performance of U.S. stocks clearly varied following the opening of the session on Wednesday, as the market awaited the Federal Open Market Committee's decision later in the evening. The performance of the benchmark indices upon the market's opening was as follows:
- The S&P 500 index stabilized near the previous closing level at 6,047.75 points, with a slight decline of about 0.05%.
- The Nasdaq Composite index fell by about 0.25%, recording a level of 20,059.33 points.
- The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose to 43,519.18 points, with a slight increase of 0.16%.
It is worth mentioning that U.S. stocks closed sharply lower in yesterday's Tuesday session, with all benchmark indices declining. The Dow Jones Industrial Average lost 267.58 points, closing at 43,449.90 points.
Additionally, the S&P 500 dropped to 6,050.61 points, down by 0.39%, while the Nasdaq Composite index fell by 0.43%, recording 22,001.09 points.
