European stock indices recorded a noticeable increase at the opening of the session on Wednesday, after official British statistics showed an acceleration in the growth of the Consumer Price Index (CPI) in the UK to 2.6% in November, compared to 2.3% in October.
The Euro Stoxx 600 index recorded a marginal rise of about 0.06%, settling near the level of 513.98 points.
The performance of U.S. stocks at the opening bell was as follows:
- The German DAX index rose about 0.19% to reach 20,284.64 points.
- The French CAC 40 index remained stable at 7,384.61 points, with a decrease of 0.26%.
- The British FTSE 100 index settled near 8,206.75 points, rising by approximately 0.14%.
- The Italian FTSE MIB index recorded 34,336.78 points and increased by about 21.54 points.
European markets are anticipating the release of the final readings for the Consumer Price Index data in the Eurozone later today, as well as the Bank of England's monetary policy decisions tomorrow, Thursday.
