U.S. stock index futures show mixed results ahead of the opening.

Futures contracts for American stock indices showed mixed performance during pre-open trading on Wednesday, recording the following levels:

• Dow Jones Industrial Average futures contracts decreased by about 0.17%, to approximately 44,260.00 points.
• Nasdaq 100 futures contracts increased by about 0.17%, to 21,448.25 points.
• S&P 500 futures contracts rose by about 0.09% to reach 6,051.50 points.

It is noteworthy that U.S. stocks closed strongly lower in yesterday's session on Tuesday, with all major indices declining. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell by 154.10 points, closing at 44,247.83 points.

Meanwhile, the S&P 500 index recorded a level of 6,034.91 points, with a decrease of 0.30%, while the Nasdaq Composite rose by 0.34%, registering 21,368.18 points.
