Strong decline in futures contracts for US stock indices ahead of the opening.
The futures contracts for U.S. stock indexes recorded a strong decline during trading prior to the opening of Tuesday's session, reaching the following levels:
- The Dow Jones Industrial Average futures lost about 253 points, settling around 43,287.00 points.
- The Nasdaq 100 futures dropped by approximately 0.38%, down to 20,555.00 points.
- The S&P 500 futures declined by about 0.46% to reach 5,892.75 points.
It is noteworthy that U.S. stocks closed the session on Monday with a clear divergence among all benchmark indexes, as the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell by 0.13%, closing at 43,389.60 points.
Meanwhile, the S&P 500 reached 5,893.62 points, an increase of 0.39%, while the Nasdaq Composite rose by about 145.06 points to record 20,539.19 points.
