U.S. stock index futures drop ahead of the opening.
Futures contracts for American stock indices recorded significant declines during pre-opening trading on Tuesday, while anticipating the release of U.S. inflation data for October tomorrow, Wednesday.
The futures contracts for the benchmark indices recorded the following levels before the opening:
- Dow Jones Industrial Average futures gave up their historical peak to settle at around 44,412.00 points, recording a marginal decline of 29.00 points.
- Nasdaq 100 futures rose by about 36.75 points, to the level of 21,181.00 points.
- S&P 500 futures recorded an increase of approximately 0.18% to reach 6,020.75 points.
It is worth noting that U.S. stocks closed mixed on Monday, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average jumping by 304.14 points to close at its historical peak of 44,293.13 points.
Additionally, the S&P 500 index reached the level of 6,001.35 points, with an increase of 0.10%, while the Nasdaq Composite index slightly declined by 0.05%, registering 21,106.59 points.
