The S&P 500 index rises to a new record level in pre-market trading.
U.S. stock index futures jumped sharply in pre-opening trading on Wednesday, following the preliminary results of the U.S. presidential elections which favored Donald Trump's victory.
The futures for the major indices recorded the following levels before the opening:
- The Dow Jones Industrial Average futures registered a level of approximately 43,630.00 points, jumping by 1,249.00 points, equivalent to a rise of 1.76%.
- The Nasdaq futures surged by 359.00 points, reaching a level of 20,700.75 points.
- The S&P 500 futures recorded a new record level close to 5,946.00 points, with an increase estimated at about 2.30%.
It is worth noting that U.S. stocks closed yesterday's trading on a strong rise across all major indices, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average climbing by 427.28 points to close at 42,221.88 points.
Additionally, the S&P 500 recorded a level of 5,782.76 points, with an increase of 1.23%, while the Nasdaq Composite rose by 1.32% to reach 20,227.46 points.
