European stocks opened the session with mixed results as some important earnings reports were released.
Most of the main European stock indexes opened lower on Wednesday with the release of quarterly results from some of the major banks in the region, including those from Deutsche Bank, Roche, and Lloyds.
At the open on Wednesday, investors received a fresh batch of corporate earnings. Deutsche Bank, Roche, and Lloyds published their quarterly results today, with many other companies set to unveil their results as the week progresses.
In terms of trading, the performance of European stock indexes at the open was as follows:
- The EURO STOXX 600 index rose by about 0.1%.
- The German DAX index decreased by 0.25%.
- The French CAC 40 index fell by approximately 0.56%.
- The British FTSE 100 index edged up by about 0.1%.
- The Spanish IBEX index increased by 0.2%.
- The Italian FTSE MIB index rose by about 0.2%.
With the opening bell, Deutsche Bank's shares fell by 2.84%, while shares of German Adidas declined by 1.04%, and French L'Oreal's shares dropped by 3.13%.
