European stocks opened the session mixed.
European stock indices opened on Tuesday with a clear divergence amid the quarterly earnings season for companies, which is clearly affecting risk appetite in the region, following the European Central Bank's decision to cut interest rates by an additional 25 basis points at the end of last week.
Regarding trading, the performance of European stock indices at the opening was as follows:
- The EURO STOXX 600 index fell by 0.07%.
- The German DAX index rose by 0.3%.
- The French CAC 40 index declined by about 0.2%.
- The British FTSE 100 index dropped by about 0.3%.
- The Spanish IBEX index decreased by 0.2%.
- The Italian FTSE MIB index fell by about 0.2%.
In terms of earnings, SAP SE topped the gains with an increase of 5.31%, while Randstad shares rose by about 3.38%, and chipmaker ASML's stock increased by about 2.30%.
