U.S. stocks show a clear divergence at the opening of the last session of the week.

U.S. stock indices opened mixed on Friday, with the benchmark indices recording the following levels after the market opened:

• The S&P 500 index recorded a level of 5,858.64 points, up by 0.29%.
• The Nasdaq Composite index rose by 98.02 points, reaching 18,471.63 points.
• The Dow Jones Industrial Average recorded a level of 43,191.70 points, down by approximately 0.11%.

It is worth noting that U.S. stocks closed yesterday's session (Thursday) with mixed performances across all benchmark indices, as the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose by 161.35 points by the end of the session to reach 43,239.05 points.

By the end of yesterday's session, the S&P 500 index settled at its previous closing level near 5,841.47 points, while the Nasdaq Composite index increased marginally by 0.08%, reaching 20,190.43 points.
