Futures contracts for U.S. stock indices rose in pre-market trading on Thursday, with S&P 500 and Dow Jones reaching record levels just before the market opened.

Markets are awaiting the release of U.S. retail sales data for September and U.S. jobless claims from last week later today.

Before the opening, the futures for the benchmark indices recorded the following levels:

  • Dow Jones Industrial Average futures rose slightly by about 20 points, reaching approximately 43,362.00 points.
  • Nasdaq 100 futures stabilized near the level of 20,493.75 points, or about 144.25 points, with an increase of 0.71%.
  • S&P 500 futures settled near the record level of 5,908.75 points, with an increase of approximately 0.37%.

U.S. stocks closed yesterday's session, Wednesday, with mixed gains across all benchmark indices, as the Dow Jones Industrial Average surged by 337.28 points, finishing the session at 43,077.70 points.

At the end of the trading session, the S&P 500 rose by 0.47% to 5,842.47 points, while the Nasdaq Composite recorded marginal gains of 0.07%, as it faced strong selling pressure on technology stocks, particularly with significant losses from semiconductor giant ASML, recording 20,174.05 points.
