The famous American media platform "The Information" published a report on Wednesday evening stating that the American startup artificial intelligence company "OpenAI," the owner of the messaging application ChatGPT, is expected to incur total losses of around $44 billion during the period from 2023 to 2028.
The platform added in its report, based on financial analyses of "OpenAI," that these losses include about $5 billion this year. It clarified that the analyses indicate that the company will not start generating profits before 2029, when it is expected to generate around $14 billion.
According to the company's analyses, training its AI model "ChatGPT" constitutes a large part of "OpenAI's" expenses, with estimates suggesting that it will cost up to $9.5 billion annually by 2026.
The report from "The Information" also indicated that "OpenAI" plans to spend more than $200 billion by 2030, with 60% to 80% of that amount intended for training and operating AI models. The report also suggested that "Microsoft," which has invested in "OpenAI," could receive 20% of the AI company's revenues.
