U.S. stock index futures decline after the indexes reached record levels.

Futures contracts for U.S. stock indices fell during pre-opening trading on Thursday, after hitting record levels yesterday, amid market anticipation for the release of U.S. inflation data for September.

Before the market opens, the futures contracts for the benchmark indices recorded the following levels:

  • Futures contracts for the Dow Jones Industrial Average slipped by about 0.16%, reaching approximately 42,744.00 points.
  • Futures contracts for the Nasdaq 100 declined by approximately 0.25% to reach the level of 20,413.25 points.
  • Futures contracts for the S&P 500 dropped by 0.21% to 5,828.75 points.

It is noteworthy that U.S. stocks closed yesterday's session on strong gains for all benchmark indices, as the Dow Jones Industrial Average surged by 431.63 points at the end of the session to the record level of 42,512.00 points.

By the end of yesterday's session, the S&P 500 jumped by 0.71% to record an all-time high of 5,792.04 points, while the Nasdaq Composite Index experienced a sharp increase of 0.80%, reaching 20,268.86 points.
