The spokesperson for the Taliban government, Zabihullah Mujahid, stated in an interview with AFP on Wednesday morning that Pakistan launched airstrikes late Tuesday evening on the Paktika province in Afghanistan, located south of the Afghan capital Kabul, on the eastern border of Afghanistan with Pakistan. The spokesperson explained that Pakistan bombed four locations in the Barmal district of Paktika province last night, adding that the airstrikes resulted in 46 fatalities, most of whom were women and children, and injured 6 others. This followed earlier statements by the Afghan Ministry of Defense, which described the Pakistani airstrikes on Afghan territory as barbaric, and the Afghan government accused its neighbor Pakistan of explicit aggression against its territory after the strikes were carried out.
