The U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis has just released the personal income and spending data for the United States for the month of November, which came in extremely negative and below expectations.

According to the data released today, Friday, personal income grew by 0.3% month-on-month in November, which is lower compared to market expectations that forecasted a growth of about 0.4%. It is worth noting that the previous reading for the index recorded a growth of 0.6% in October, which has been revised to 0.7%.

Personal income data measures the change in the total value of income that consumers in the United States receive from all different sources on a monthly basis.

At the same time, the personal spending index in the United States increased during the month of November, registering a month-on-month growth of 0.4%, which is lower than the expectations that predicted a growth in personal spending of 0.5%, after personal spending had previously achieved an increase of 0.4% by the end of October, which was revised to show a growth of 0.3%.

It is important to note that personal spending data measures the change in inflation based on total consumer spending on a monthly basis, and it also reflects the overall economic activity in the United States.
