The Associated Press news agency reported that the Republican Party has managed to secure control of the U.S. House of Representatives with a majority by winning 218 seats, while the Democratic Party only secured 208 seats.
The Republican Party has achieved a strong trifecta in governance after winning control of both the House of Representatives and the Senate, alongside the presidency. A Congress controlled by Republicans will make the task of the elected U.S. President Donald Trump easier in terms of implementing his policies and forming the government.
Republicans in the House of Representatives have been placed at the top with a large majority in votes in Arizona and California, after it was previously expected that the Republican Party was on track to secure the 218-seat barrier.
