S&P Global Agency released on Tuesday the final data for the Services Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) in the United States for October, showing that the index came in lower than analysts' expectations and worse than the preliminary reading.

According to the reported data, the Services PMI index recorded a score of 55.2 points in October, which is slightly lower than market expectations that predicted the index would stabilize at the preliminary reading of 55.3 points. Meanwhile, the Services Purchasing Managers' Index in the United States recorded 55.2 points in September.

This index is one of the key indicators for assessing the health of activity in the services sector, as it relies on extensive surveys conducted with purchasing managers to measure market conditions and economic activity within service institutions. A reading above 50.0 points indicates an expansion in economic activity, while a reading below that suggests a potential contraction.
