The U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis has just released data on personal spending and income in the United States for the month of September, showing clear discrepancies.

According to the data released today, Thursday, personal income grew by 0.3% on a monthly basis in September, which aligns with market expectations that anticipated a growth of about 0.3%. It is worth noting that the previous reading for this indicator recorded a growth of 0.2% in August.

Personal income data measures the change in the total value of income received by consumers in the United States from various sources on a monthly basis.

At the same time, personal spending in the United States increased in September, recording a monthly growth of 0.5%, which is higher than expectations that forecast personal spending growth of 0.4%. This follows personal spending having risen by 0.2% at the end of August.

It is worth noting that personal spending data measures changes in inflation based on total monthly consumer spending, and it also reflects the overall performance of economic activity in the United States.
