The German Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) has just released data on real GDP growth in the country for the third quarter of the year, which came out positive and contrary to market expectations; Germany managed to avoid economic recession in the third quarter.
During the third quarter, Germany achieved a real GDP growth of 0.2%, while market expectations had anticipated an economic contraction of 0.1%. Additionally, Germany's economy contracted by about 0.1% in the second quarter.
On a yearly basis, Germany's economy contracted by 0.2% during the third quarter compared to the same period last year, while a contraction of around 0.3% was expected. It is worth noting that Germany had failed to achieve growth in the second quarter of this year.
