Steno Research recently predicted that 2025 will be an extraordinary year in the history of the cryptocurrency market, with expectations for Bitcoin and Ethereum to reach new record levels. The company noted that Bitcoin prices could exceed $150,000, while Ethereum prices may cross the $8,000 threshold, citing a series of "positive developments" that could support this performance, including a favorable regulatory environment and a macroeconomic climate that boosts the appeal of digital assets.

Steno Research explained that one of the main factors supporting these expectations is the decline in interest rates and improved liquidity in the markets, in addition to the strong performance cryptocurrencies typically experience following Bitcoin halvings. The company also indicated that institutional adoption of these assets will reach unprecedented levels in 2025, with large inflows expected into Bitcoin and Ethereum exchange-traded funds (ETFs) in the United States, amounting to $48 billion for Bitcoin and $28.5 billion for Ethereum.

Regarding alternative currencies, Steno Research expressed optimism about the expected performance of Ether, which may significantly outperform Bitcoin. It is expected that the ratio of Ether to Bitcoin will reach at least 0.06 in 2025, which is nearly double the current level. This strong performance of Ether could pave the way for the beginning of a broader altcoin season, with Bitcoin's dominance of the cryptocurrency market's total value declining from 57% currently to about 45% over the year.

The company mentioned that Donald Trump's victory in the U.S. presidency could have a significantly positive impact on alternative currencies compared to Bitcoin, as his presidency is expected to contribute to increased activity on digital chains, benefiting currencies like Ethereum and Solana significantly. It also anticipated that the total value locked in decentralized applications would exceed $300 billion in 2025, which far surpasses the record of $180 billion set in 2021.
