Bitcoin records a new all-time high above $106,000

The digital currency Bitcoin has seen a new rise at the start of the week, reaching a historic peak above $106,500. The record gains of Bitcoin in the previous period have continued to boost the increasing interest in the cryptocurrency.

In terms of trading, Bitcoin jumped by 2.6% to $106,533, as the currency continued to receive more support from investor optimism regarding potential decisions that may be adopted by the elected U.S. President Donald Trump, which are expected to be supportive of the digital assets industry.

Today, Bitcoin experienced sharp fluctuations since the early trading sessions, as it rose, then fell, and then surged again, propelled strongly to record its new high.

Data from CoinGlass shows that the sharp volatility Bitcoin experienced in the past 24 hours may have caused losses for more than 100,000 traders. Nevertheless, the largest individual liquidation occurred on the popular cryptocurrency trading platform Binance on the trading pair BTC/USDT, with the total value lost by this investor during today’s sharp fluctuations amounting to about $19.86 million.
