Vladimir Putin extends countermeasures on the oil price cap until June 2025.
Russian President Vladimir Putin decided on Friday to extend the current retaliatory measures against the oil price cap imposed by Western countries until June 30, 2025.
It was expected that Putin's decree would expire at the end of this year, which prohibits the sale of Russian oil and petroleum products to parties that adopted the cap on Russian crude oil prices.
Last month, Vladimir Putin approved some proposed amendments to the doctrine regarding the country's nuclear weapons use policy, which includes a new principle allowing the use of nuclear weapons in response to aggression by a non-nuclear state supported by a nuclear state.
Additionally, any attack on Russia by a state belonging to a military alliance will be considered an attack by the entire alliance, and the new amendments enable Russia to use nuclear weapons in response to traditional weapon attacks on Russia or Belarus if the attack is deemed a serious threat.
